Profil Desa dan kelurahan telah sangat berguna untuk menunjukkan tingkat pembangunan desa yang secara berjenjang akan dapat menggambarkan perkembangan daerah dan nasional.

Informasi tersebut dapat digunakan untuk menyusun perencanaan program-progam pembangunan desa, membedakan jenis program yang dibutuhkan sesuai tipologi dan masalah desa, serta mengembangkan masyarakat sesuai potensi modal sosial dan fisik yang dimiliki masing-masing desa.

Perencanaan pembangunan yang baik adalah perencanaan yang mampu memberikan solusi atas permasalahan pengelolaan sumberdaya yang ada di desa. Selain itu, perencanaan juga harus fleksibel dan dapat beradaptasi dengan kondisi faktual di desa.

Kunci dari sebuah perencanaan adalah data yang dikumpulkan harus akurat, terukur, dan kompatibel serta proses analisis datanya dilakukan dengan metode yang tepat guna menghasilkan perencanaan yang efisien, efektif dan tepat sasaran.

Nah, selanjutnya tahukah kita bagaimana cara untuk menentukan kriteria desa? Kriteria desa tidak ditentukan oleh kementerian atau pemkab, melainkan atas dasar kelengkapan dan kebenaran Pemerintah Desa mengentri data pada sistem data Profil Desa dan Kelurahan (Prodeskel) dan Indeks Desa Membangun (IDM).

Dari Prodeskel akan dapat diketahui kriteria desa;
1. Swadaya;
2. Swakarya; dan
3. Swasembada;

Dari IDM akan dapat di ketahui kriteria desa:
1. Tertinggal;
2. Berkembang;
3. Maju; dan
4. Mandiri;

Silakan staf operator desa mengentri data desa dalam aplikasi tersebut. Maka Pemdes dan warga akan tahu desanya masuk kriteria yang mana.*
